Abstract(RBIP-185)

Aegle marmelos leaf has been used as a remedy for various gastrointestinal infections of human due to the presence of various constituents such as Flavanoids, Tannins and Alkaloids (eg. Aegelin, Marmelosin, Luvangetin). This study reveals the antioxidant potentials of Aegle marmelos Leaf extract. Standard method was adopted to evaluate the antioxidant property such DPPH scavenging activity, H202 scavenging activity and Ferrous reducing power. In vitro activity of Methanolic extract of Aegle marmelos showed that it has good antioxidant activity with that IC50 value 23±0.08 thus can be used as potential inhibitor of free radicals.
