Abstract (RBIP-19)

HPMC (Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) capsules have been developed for both pharmaceutical products and dietary supplements. HPMC is also being adopted as a film coating or a sustained-release tablet material in the pharmaceutical field. HPMC is used in various formulations as viscolizing agent, coating polymer, bioadhesive, in solid dispersion to enhance solubility, binder in the process of granulation and in modified release formulations. Notable use is in the production of capsule shells, replacing the animal derived gelatin in conventional two-piece capsules. These capsules are made of self-developed 100% natural seaweed compound HPMC. The basic idea behind this study is to provide information regarding advantages of HPMC over Gelatin capsules made by animal source (proteins). HPMC capsules offers numerous and unique benefits that include low price with high quality, fast delivery time, No risk of animal-source infectious diseases, available in all sizes ( ranging from 000# to 5#) suitable for all current capsules and filling rate is approximately 99%.These capsules also satisfies all vegetarian and religion needs that suits Muslims, Judaism, Hinduism.
